JB, Michael, and Prince

For my money, this video is the reason YouTube exists. I thought of it when I heard of Michael Jackson’s death on Thursday, but didn’t have time to search for it until today.
Obviously shot in the mid-80s, the video raises several questions:
- What the hell was James Brown wearing? At times, it looks like a green house dress.
- What kind of cameraman fails to pull back at the first hint that Michael Jackson is going to dance?
- Did Prince ever get his jacket back? JB, like a dutiful mom, did his best to return it.
- And finally, you know you’re dealing with a weird group of people when James Brown is the most normal one onstage.
