Another Twitter discussion

Last night I had this little back-and-forth on Twitter.

I’m actually sympathetic to Mr. Russell’s concerns about Apple’s iPhone development restrictions, but come on: Jobs wouldn’t be making this play if all he had was his famous RDF. Maybe he’ll fail and, by overreaching, lose the market he controls; but right now that market is real and it’s his.

(And I’m not sure why Russell threw DRM into his complaint—that’s never been an issue with apps. You can’t blame DRM for every problem. The tendency to do so should be given a name. I suggest we call it the Doctorow Reflex.)
