Iraq New Year

I just looked at the Iraq Coalition Casualties Count to see that US military deaths have hit the 3000 mark. There’s only about an hour of 2006 left in Iraq, so it looks like year will end with about 820 US troop deaths, down a couple dozen from the last two years, but not down far enough to look like a real improvement. I hope I won’t be posting about Iraq this time next year, but that hope is faint.
