When I visited icasualties.org recently, I noticed that its index page, which used to present the Iraq casualty figures, has changed to this
reflecting the growing importance of Afghanistan. 294 coalition troops were killed in Afghanistan in 2008, as compared to 322 in Iraq. Last month, 24 coalition troops were killed in Afghanistan (15 of them from the US), and 16 were killed in Iraq (all from the US).
