LaunchBar beta

It couldn’t have been more than a few hours after I wrote this post praising LaunchBar that I got the word that Objective Development had released a public beta of LaunchBar 5. Of the many new features, the three I look forward to the most are
- the Clipboard history, which looks to be more capable than Jumpcut;
- the elimination of the LaunchBar icon from the Dock, which just takes up space; and
- the Quick Look integration, which seems like a good way to ensure the file you’ve found is what you think it is.
The new image manipulation actions look interesting. I suspect they won’t be as efficient as the combination of sips
commands and FastScripts that I currently use, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.
I haven’t tried the beta yet, mainly because I’ve been busy on a big project at work and didn’t want to disturb any of my normal workflows. In a few days, though, work should settle down and I’ll be able to do a bit of experimenting.
