Finally home after a weeklong business trip. This week I learned the value of the hold switch—on three separate occasions my iPod turned itself on in my bag and ran out its battery, leaving me bereft and tuneless. The first time I thought I had forgotten to charge it; the second time I thought the battery was finally at the end of its life and would hold a charge; the third time (I’m a little slow) I realized what had happened.
