These “milestone” posts are coming too close together. As of today, there have been over 3400 US military deaths in the Iraq war, according to the figures at icasualties.org. The count is approaching 3700 for the coalition as a whole.
Worse, the casualty rate seems to be increasing. There have been almost 400 US deaths so far this year, and we’re only halfway through May.
